This afternoon Vice Press is boldly goes where no poster shop has gone before, dropping Star Trek: Picard and Lower Decks key art. First up is the Picard art by Paul Shipper. Picard is a really good show and we’ve enjoyed seeing Jean-Luc continue his adventures. If you are not familiar with Picard the show, it connects to The Next Generation not just through the character of Picard, but also through its thematic continuation of the storylines and the inclusion of characters from the previous series, evolving the narrative while honoring its roots. It’s well done, as is the artwork here from Shipper. This one will drop in regular and foil editions.
The other Star Trek related artwork dropping this afternoon comes from the Lower Decks series. This is actually not the first Star Trek animated show, as Star Trek: The Animated Series was created and around until 1974. Lower Decks takes a hilarious turn in the 24th century aboard the USS Cerritos, one of Starfleet’s less glamorous ships. The “lower deckers,” bring the fun and chaos, showing us a different side of space adventures, with laughter and quirky references to the wider “Star Trek” universe. The key art being released here is from seasons 1 – 4 and will be available as A2 sized prints. All the trek artwork goes on sale today at 1PM EST on the Vice Press website.
