Who Framed Roger Rabbit by Vincent Roucher and Mondo

“P-p-p-p-p-p-p-please, Eddie!”

When I used to watch Who Framed Roger Rabbit as a kid, this line always stuck in my head for some reason, long after Judge Doom melted into a pool of “Dip” in a not at all scary way for children to see. Just before this he is run over by a steamroller and then exposed as a toon himself. When Disney-MGM Studios opened up in 1989, they had a area in the back where that scene from Who Framed Roger Rabbit was set up, complete with steamroller where you could pretend to be flattened yourself. I took some great photos there. Needless to say, I have fond memories of the film and it will forever be etched in my memory.

The print from Vincent Roucher and Mondo captures Roger perfectly, worried and unsure of his current circumstances. Other recognizable Disney characters in the crowd is a nice touch as well, but what really stands out to are the colors used and the details in the curtain and Roger himself. I’m glad they decided to turn the vinyl soundtrack artwork into a full print. There will be 280 copies available tomorrow March 18th at Noon EST on Mondo’s the Drop.
