One of the most iconic movie posters of all time is getting the screen print treatment from Bottleneck Gallery today as the classic artwork for Vertigo by Saul Bass is dropped via Bottleneck Gallery. The beauty of Bass’s work is that is was able to convey so much with so little. His posters were not flashy, but remarkable in their design and Bass used this style in much of his work not just movie posters. The Vertigo artwork in particular is classic Bass. The hand-drawn typography gives a sense of unease and is off balance mirroring the films themes, while the vortex echos fixation and emotional free fall. It’s an epic composition and we love to see BNG resurrect these old, classic film poster artworks. There will able to a variety of versions to select from, we especially like that blue one, when they go on sale today at 12PM ET on the Bottleneck website.
