Transformers: The Movie Original One-Sheet

Released in 1986, Transformers: The Movie marked a major leap for the animated series, introducing Hot Rod and Galvatron while saying farewell to Optimus Prime in one of the franchise’s most infamous moments. The film also featured an impressive voice cast, including Leonard Nimoy, Judd Nelson, Eric Idle and Orson Welles in his final role. The original theatrical one-sheet captures that scale, with Optimus and the Autobots firing skyward against the looming presence of Unicron.

The poster leans heavily into the airbrushed aesthetic of the 80s, dialing up bold poses and vibrant colors. While the heavy gradient shading might not be everyone’s favorite look, it’s undeniably of its time and matches the loud, larger-than-life energy of the film itself. As a piece, this one-sheet remains an iconic artifact from a pivotal moment in Transformers lore and tomorrow Bottleneck Gallery will be releasing the artwork in three different editions. There will be two screen prints (one foil) and a multi-layer acrylic panel dropping when these go on sale, tomorrow at 12PM ET.
