After a little R&R last week and in the wake of SDCC, we are back with the drops. Speaking of back Transformers: The Movie is back, with Matt Ferguson taking on two of the film’s most memorable scenes for Bottleneck Gallery. One print goes big and loud with the Optimus Prime and Megatron showdown, the two figures squared off across a dam as white water crashes below them. The second piece shifts completely, landing on that odd, perfect quiet beat with Hot Rod fishing alongside Daniel by a mountain lake, all cool blues, pine trees, and giant slabs of rock, with the tiny splash in the water doing most of the work. It’s a smart pairing because it gets at what makes the movie stick: apocalyptic robot warfare on one hand, and these strangely human pauses on the other. Ferguson, no stranger to Transformers artwork, has always been good at scale and atmosphere, and both images lean into that without overcrowding things. BNG is releasing both scenes in multiple formats today, and they’re also putting up new Darth Vader work by Michael Del Mundo alongside the Transformers drop.
