Vice Press returns to the ice with The Thing by Dan Mumford, and it’s an absolute nightmare in the best way. We have sen some really fabulous artwork for The Thing recently including some gorgeous prints from Ken Taylor and Elvisdead and now Dan Mumford offers his take. Mumford leans fully into the film’s grotesque paranoia, stacking writhing limbs, snapping jaws, and tangled tendrils into a towering mass of mutation. MacReady stands in the glow below, dwarfed by a creature that feels less like a single being and more like pure chaos. The icy blues and inky blacks give it that frozen isolation, while the red accents pulse like infected veins through the snow. It so good in Mumford’s unmistakable style. These drop in two editions when they go on sale today at 1PM ET via Vice Press.
