This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Jonathan Demme directed film the Silence of the Lambs. The movie won critical acclaim and was only the 3rd film to win Academy Awards in all of the 5 major categories of Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Adapted Screenplay. No film has achieved the same feat since The Silence of the Lambs did it in 1991. It’s also the only “horror” film to ever win Best Picture. It is highly regarded as one of the best films made.
With all this praise, one new print is just not enough, so Mad Duck Posters is dropping two new The Silence of the Lambs posters. The first one is from Juan Carlos Ruiz Burgos. We just did a write-up on a recent Ruiz Burgos print, one of his recent works that Bottleneck turned into a Aluminum print. His new Silence of the Lambs print is 24″ x 36″ and will be available in 4 different version. The regular version is $75 and will have a run of 250. The variant is $95 and will have a run of 200. In addition to these two prints there will a gold foil regular and a red foil variant. Cost and edition size were not mentioned for these at time of post, but we will update this post with these details if we get them before these prints drop.
The other release from Mad Duck is from Rhys Cooper. Cooper went a different route with his print focusing on Buffalo Bill. His print is 18″ x 36″ and will drop in 4 different versions. The regular edition with metallic inks will have an edition of 112 and cost $65. The variant will cost $85 and have an edition of 79. A foil variant of the regular version will have an edition of 35 and cost $95. Finally, there will be a Glow in the Dark version with an edition of 50, costing $90.
