The Rescuers by Matthew Woodson

Mutant and Cyclops Print Works team up to drop alternative Disney prints, with a new take on The Rescuers by Matthew Woodson. The piece leans into the darker tones of the film’s setting; swampy, forgotten corners of the world, illustrated in a muted pink palette that helps the looming skull imagery feel oddly elegant.
Released in 1977, The Rescuers follows two members of the Rescue Aid Society, a mouse-run international organization headquartered beneath the United Nations, as they attempt to save a kidnapped girl from a treasure-hunting villain. The film blends suspense with warmth, and while it’s one of Disney’s more subdued efforts from that era, it’s become a bit of a cult favorite. Mutant has been working with Woodson on a number of releases as of late, including a recent A Clockwork Orange piece to go along with other Stanley Kubrick films, 2001: A Space Odyssey and The Shining. The Rescuers will be up on their site at 12PM ET.
