On Friday the Moor-Art Gallery drops artwork from Dave Kennedy from the 1999 action-packed sci-fi adventure, The Matrix. Love Kennedy’s take on one of the most iconic scenes in movies, the infamous lobby scene. The scene featured a mix of gunfights, martial arts, and acrobatic stunts, choreographed by Hong Kong fight choreographer Yuen Woo-ping. The intense gunfire leads to massive destruction, as marble pillars and walls are blown apart, creating a visual overload of debris and smoke. Remarkably, no CGI was used for the majority of the scene’s destruction. All the falling debris and exploding marble were achieved using physical effects. Kennedy does a brilliant job recreating the key elements of this scene, right down to the colors. The print will be available today at 1PM on the Moor-Art Gallery website.
