Back in its prime, Mondo frequently collaborated with the talented team at Black Dragon Press to unveil a series of spectacular alternative movie posters, several of which we’ve highlighted here. Among our favorites were the Agatha Christie-themed releases, featuring artwork by WBYK—the very artists behind today’s exciting new drop. Mondo is now Mutant, but the collaboration lives on with today’s drop “Tampopo”.
The artwork for “Tampopo” is a visual feast, featuring a large, steaming bowl of ramen that dominates the composition, surrounded by elements that are as lively as the film’s plot. This poster is an apt tribute to Juzo Itami’s iconic film, known for its delightful exploration of food and the art of noodle making, blended with quirky side stories and character journeys. It looks amazing and goes on sale today at 1PM EST on the Mutant and Black Dragon Press websites.
