Mutant is dropping alternative movie posters this afternoon with artwork from the 1977 film Suspiria. Recently celebrating its 49th anniversary, Argento’s horror classic remains one of the most visually influential films ever made. Julián Totino Tedesco returns to Argento’s horror masterpiece, after last year’s haunting portrait-focused release, he now shifts into something more symbolic and theatrical with Dance Akademie. This new piece leans fully into the film’s ballet-school setting, presenting a skeletal dancer mid-pose, elegance and death intertwined. The vintage European typography locks it firmly into that late-70s Italian horror aesthetic. It’s both restrained and and beautifully unnerving. Mutant is keeping it simple with a single print for this release. Copies of Tedesco’s piece from last year are still available, making it the perfect opportunity to grab both when Dance Akademie goes on sale today at 12PM ET.
