This afternoon Bottleneck Gallery and Ralph McQuarrie return with Wave Three of their ongoing showcase, a continuation of one of the most important art retrospectives in the Star Wars artwork space. Ralph McQuarrie’s concept work didn’t just visualize Star Wars, it made Star Wars possible. His paintings shaped the look, tone, and world building that defined the original trilogy, giving George Lucas the visual language he needed to secure studio backing. Decades later, these images remain some of the most iconic sci-fi artworks ever created.
BNG’s first two waves earlier this year highlighted McQuarrie’s legacy with both Giclée prints and large-format acrylic panels. Wave Three focuses exclusively on Giclée editions, with acrylic panels set to arrive in a later release. This wave brings another strong selection of pieces spanning desert vistas, Cloud City interiors, Rebel command moments, and early character designs. Wave Three of the Ralph McQuarrie Star Wars showcase goes on sale today at 12PM ET on the Bottleneck Gallery website.
