Sterling Hundley returns to Ran with a pair of prints presented by Almost Epic, a portrait and landscape edition built from the same striking artwork he created for Studio Canal’s 40th Anniversary 4K UHD Collector’s Edition.
Hundley’s illustration, originally commissioned as the key packaging art for the new box set, encapsulates Kurosawa’s vision through layered helmets, scorched architecture, and ghostly faces embedded within the chaos. For this print release, the studio piece has been adapted into two formats: a portrait , mirroring the steelbook/packaging orientation and a landscape orientation print, reconfigured for a wider theatrical composition. Both versions feature the same core imagery, honoring the original anniversary art while giving collectors a choice in display. A beautiful extension of Hundley’s work and a perfect companion to one of cinema’s greatest epics. Drops this afternoon via Almost Epic.
