Today Vice Press kicks off a new series of prints celebrating the stop-motion worlds of Laika Studios, starting with Kubo and the Two Strings, brought to life by Matt Ferguson. The art takes a quiet, wide approach, with silhouettes of Kubo, Monkey, and Beetle trekking through a golden-hour forest — understated, elegant, and fitting for one of Laika’s most visually striking films. Laika has quietly built one of the most distinct catalogs in animation. Starting with Coraline (2009), their lineup includes ParaNorman, The Boxtrolls, Kubo and the Two Strings, Missing Link, and the upcoming Wildwood. The artwork was originally released in 2016 as an 18″ x 24″ print to coincide with the release of the film, but is now redone for the full AMP treatment. It’s gorgeous and goes on sale today at 1PM ET on the Vice Press website.
