Halloween by Kevin Tong

Mad Duck Posters returns with a new release, and it’s a welcome one. While they’ve been quiet for a bit, it’s always good to see fresh work from different poster houses—especially when it’s something that takes a familiar property and gives it a new edge.

Kevin Tong handles the art for this new Halloween piece, and his approach offers something just slightly off the beaten path. Rather than the usual looming Michael Myers presence, Tong gives us a version of the killer pressing forward through a chain-link fence—his iconic mask cold and fixed, a large blade catching glints of suburban horror in its reflection. The autumn palette, with swirling leaves and eerie lighting, reinforces the season while helping the design stand out from more traditional takes on the film.

There are other nice touches too—Laurie Strode and Dr. Loomis in a sketchy, almost graphite style, a rust-orange Phelps Garage truck tucked in the corner, and of course, the Judith Myers gravestone nodding to the franchise’s origin. This officially licensed screen print drops May 14th at 1PM EST on the Mad Duck Posters site.
