Escape From New York by Phantom City Creative

Vice Press is back with a new alternative poster for Escape From New York, this time with Phantom City Creative behind the art. The design leans in on a close-up of Snake Plissken, pairing clean graphic minimalism with that classic ‘90s tech-anxiety vibe. The red silhouette of Manhattan positioned over his eye is a smart visual hook—simple, but it carries the concept well.

This drop ties in with Vice Press’ VHS-style release of the film, as well as a newly remastered version of the original 27″ x 40″ theatrical one sheet. That piece, originally illustrated by Barry E. Jackson, has been cleaned up by Matt Ferguson and looks sharp, especially for collectors of original promo work. It’s such an amazing piece of artwork that I saw countless times as a kid in the video store. Iconic. This new Phantom City Creative edition goes on sale Wednesday, May 14th at 1PM ET over at Vice Press.
