Thursday Dark City Gallery drops new alternative movie poster artwork for the Michael Powell & Emeric Pressburger classic Black Narcissus, with artwork from none other than Laurent Durieux. This is not the first time DCG and Durieux have teamed up, most recently they have collaborated together on Amadeus and previously on another Michael Powell & Emeric Pressburger film, The Red Shoes. We are still kicking ourselves over that Red Shoes drop…
“Black Narcissus” follows a group of nuns who embark on establishing a monastery in the Himalayas. Initially successful, they soon find themselves entangled in romance and mystery. The film has been highly acclaimed, boasting a perfect critic score and a very high audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Durieux’s piece looks good and captures one of the films climatic scenes. Good composition and we really like the subtle colors used in the artwork. It will drop in both regular and variant editions as 12 color screen prints when they go on sale today at 12PM EST on the Dark City Gallery website.
