Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles #4 by Michael Dooney

We’re ending the week with some comic book and video game nostalgia as Bottleneck Gallery drops Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #4, featuring Michael Dooney‘s artwork. If you have been around as long as we have then you are instantly familiar with Dooney’s artwork. The artwork was originally released a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #4 in 1987. It was the second printing for the comic, for which 8 additional pages were added. If you are like us, you were not aware of this artwork until 1989, when it was used as the cover artwork for Ultra’s NES release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. We were very excited for the games’ release and this was amplified by the amazing box art for the game. it was so cool and different, it became ingrained in our minds. For the release with BNG, the artwork will drop in a variety of editions, including, regular and foil screen prints, 3D lenticular, and multi-layer acrylic panels. Interestingly, the foil edition is not currently listed in the release post, but it was included in the presale, so perhaps these have sold out already. We’ll see when they go on sale today at 12PM ET on the Bottleneck website. A full run down of costs and edition sizes are below.
